conspiracy theory and legend.
Many tens of thousands of Americans seriously believe that the UN is using
these to supply secret battalions concealed in abandoned mines and
national parks, in preparation for the day when they take over the United
States in the name of Communism.
Unfortunately this sort of paranoid tinfoil-hat fanatasy is by no means
confined to the US. You've got to laugh really.
The US Military (and probably many other Militaries around the world)
do actually have dark coloured, if not black, helicopters; probably for the
obvious reason that they're scary. This is after all why they paint stealth
bombers black (which is much easier to spot against the night sky than the
original dusk-pink).
